Gravity Roller Conveyors

Gravity roller conveyors are the most economical and simplest way of transporting loads from one point to another. Gravity conveyors suit flat loads and can be installed horizontally wherever movement of the load is by manual effort. The conveyor can also be installed with a shallow decline to allow loads to be moved under the force of gravity.

Key uses:

Gravity conveyors require free movement for optimum propulsion. Any resistance from friction, can affect this. Gravity conveyors are therefore best suited to move:

• Items with a flat, firm base without projections
• Items where their individual weight can be correctly matched to the conveyor’s bearing capacity (too heavy and the items will move too rapidly and freely, too light and the items won’t move and cause bottlenecks)

Gravity rollers (skate wheel conveyors) – key applications:

• Ideal when you need to save space
• Suitable for offices, factories, or despatch environments
• Ideal for live storage applications

When your aim is to reduce manual intervention as much as possible, consider combining gravity conveyors with powered roller conveyors to guarantee efficient operation.
